Torrevieja is a town in Costa Blanca autonomous region of the Alicante province, SE-Spain, some 50 kilometers from Alicante. Nowadays, Torrevieja is known primarily as a holiday destination, where many people have a holiday apartment. The city is also a popular destination from elsewhere in Europe. Torevieja had in 2005 84 838 inhabitants, of which 47.8% were Spanish nationals.
